Workforce Diversity Network Offering New Training Program: Diversity Means All of Us

The Workforce Diversity Network is now offering a new seminar to organizations entitled, "Diversity Means All of Us." The seminar, held at either your worksite or offsite, provides a powerful introduction to the key principles in diversity and inclusion for employees at all levels of an organization.

In this highly interactive seminar, participants will explore various definitions of the term diversity and take an honest look at many common negative assumptions, often unconsciously made about each other. They will also explore the differences between programs such as affirmative-action and the realities of managing diversity and valuing differences.

Through a series of guided exercises, participants will be encouraged to reflect upon their own experiences of feeling "different" and to share their stories with the larger group.

The acclaimed video, "A Class Divided," will be shown and utilized to further explore the barriers we can impose upon each other and the resulting impact on employee contribution and overall organizational effectiveness.

Finally, together, we will envision what is involved in building a truly inclusive workplace, and how that workplace would look, feel, and function.

Participants will learn:

* To define the concepts diversity and inclusion.

* How organizational culture impacts our ability to manage diversity and maximize organizational outcomes.

* What it feels like to be different, and that how we deal with differences directly impacts our work performance.

* The negative impact that biases, prejudices and stereotypes have on all of us and our ability to work effectively.

* How each of us can become a vehicle to create a truly inclusive workplace.
