Harter, Secrest & Emery Presents $25,000 Check To Catholic Health System's Continuing Care Foundation
The Rochester law firm of Harter, Secrest & Emery LLP (HSE), presented a check for $25,000 to representatives from the Catholic Health System's Continuing Care Foundation (CCF) during a special reception on Wednesday, March 22, 2006 at the Nazareth Home, in Buffalo, NY.
Thomas G. Smith, Partner HSE Healthcare Group, and 15 associates from the firm received an engraved plaque in recognition of their generous donation. Harter, Secrest & Emery became the first corporate members of the foundation's new "Founders Group" representing donors who make a major gift to support the work of CHS's Continuing Care Division.
Christine Kluckhohn, CEO for Catholic Health System's Continuing Care Division, and Continuing Care Foundation Director, Kathleen Flynn, was on hand to accept the check and to welcome the firm to the Founders Group. "The challenge of providing excellent long term care for the area's large elderly population requires new funding partners like Harter, Secrest & Emery to help support existing services and create new opportunities for innovations in care," Kluckhohn said. "We are grateful to everyone involved for this generous contribution and for their confidence in the long term and continuing care services we provide."
Formed in 2005, the Continuing Care Foundation was created to raise needed funds to enhance the Catholic Health System's current long term & continuing care facilities and provide funding to expand needed services for area seniors. As a leader in Senior Services in Western New York, the Catholic Health System provides short-term rehabilitation, home care, and skilled nursing care at ten local facilities: McAuley Residence, St. Joseph Manor, St. Catherine Laboure, St. Elizabeth's Home, St. Vincent's Home, Mercy Nursing Facility, St. Francis of Buffalo, St. Francis of Williamsville, O.L.V. Renaissance and Father Baker Manor.
