Making Connections III
NCBI Rochester is pleased to offer one of a series of four community workshops
Beyond Recordings: From Fear to Hope
Registration Form
For many, diversity initiatives are tolerated as long as dominant groups remain in control. Multi- culturalism can flourish as long as white norms remain intact. Why is this so? What can we do to fundamentally change the way we think? Utilizing The Color of Fear as reference, we will examine the various fears that impede our desire for racial justice. Despite legislative achievements in civil rights, gaps between white and minority groups in America in housing, income, education and employment are as great or greater than ever. Yet hope abounds. The scars of racism affect all of us. We can become more fully human through every day interactions and courageous conversations.
